I am a 36 yr. old female carpenter that has been taken out of my love career. I was born with a bi-cuspid aortic valve and I am facing surgery in about 4 mnths.. I guess since I won’t be able to build them anymore, then I would love to design and or blueprint ideas and dreams as they become reality. I just don’t know where to start and if financail aid- government grants are available for such a dream. Would appreciate any help in pointing me in this direction with unprofound gratitude. Thank You and I eagerly await. Tina Little
2 Responses on what classes required from start to finish on how to become an architect?
Typically an accredited architecture undergraduate program runs about five years. As with any undergraduate program, you would be eligible for garden variety financial aid. You should probably also look into financial aid for mature/returning students. You’ll take classes on drawing/sketching/drafting, up to about Calculus level math, some structural engineering courses, lots of architectural design courses, and whatever general education courses the particular university you attend requires. Best of luck with your dream.
This depends upon the school. Contact the school you would like to attend and find out directly from them.
