I don’t think it’s necessary to study all those landmarks and history of Paris when I’m taking French 1 in High School, but it is required, unfortunately.

look up” famous places in France”.When you get there,put in the word paris.this will give you lots of websites,then write land marks…..Good luck.

I think the idea for studying French architecture, history, culture, customs, etc. is to break up the sheer tedium of learning the language. After all, what can you read of interest in French in the first year?
