I would think that art or interior design would be the most helpful to you as an architect.

Most schools offer courses like Communication. If you are interested particularly in communication skills, I'd argue it would be helpful if you minor in one from among communication, psychology, sociology and anthropology. I personally don't think Philosophy can really help your communication skills especially when seeking for a realistic and social approaches to communicate with real people in industry because philosophy is more specializing in theoretical and impractical complicated interpretation about human and the world unlike those realistic and practical studies I recommended above. And also the minor in philosophy wouldn't look that great in your diploma and resume (kinda prejudiced view though). Don't you think so?

My boyfriend is an architecture major.

He's minoring in Electronic Design.

Apparently it's very useful in the architecture field.
