Amazing, what countries are you in to have your assignments about Thailand. Are you in international school in Thailand?

Famous buildings in Thailand; mostly Bangkok, Baiyok Tower (tallest building in the countries). Other than that the Robot Building on Sathorn Roads, used to be quite famous that they even talked about it in the UK because of it's odd Robotic Shape. Now, it's UOBT bank headoffice.
The Kbank head office is also another one.
Siam Commercial Bank headoffice in Ratchayothin is one famous ones too (a group of five buildings.).
These are contemporary ones, which I think you wanna know.

This is Thailand, and most of the famous buildings here are some of the temples. They play such a big role in daily life, not like chirches in many Western countries. So if you exclude them, you really miss out.

Beside that, some of the hotels are kind of famous buildings, but I am not sure if in the kind you are looking for.

One really famous and a tourist attraction is the
