		<description>To be a licensed architect you need a B.Arch degree (5 years) or a M.Arch I degree (1.5 years + a Bachelors such as a B.A. in Art or Architecture).  After that, there is 3 years of internship and seven licensing exams.
Also, you usually have to get into Architecture programs separately from getting into a university. Most are extremely selective and some require portfolios to be submitted. 
I will warn you though, it is not an easy major to pursue. You will have demanding projects that will consume all of your time, and have many a sleepless night. Keep in mind you'll have other classes too... 
It's rewarding if you enjoy it above all else, and the stimulation of both intelligence and creativity is truly required.
Architecture is one of the most underpaid professions in the world. Architects work at least 50-60 hours a week if they're lucky, and salaries usually aren't much higher than a well paid teacher. Some make it very big, and make millions... but they are few.</description>
