Transamerica building at Clay and Montgomery - love it or hate it, the pyramid is an icon. Just north of this building is the Jackson Square area, a two block area that was spared in 1906 fire and has several 1800's building and is home to Wiliam Stout Architectural Bookstore. 804 Montgomery North beach area lovely old Churches and the iconic Coit Tower. Be sure to take the Filbert street steps down the eastern face of Telegraph hill. A true only in SF walk. The Embarcadero - recently renovated Ferry Building offers unique shopping, eats and amazing views of the bay and bridge. Civic Center the largest collection of Beaux Arts civic building in the US. Check out the new federal court building at 7th and Mission, a "green" building with a unique design. Haas-Lilienthal House on Franklin at Pine (?) a huge Victorian open to the public. The Halidaie building on Sutter at Montgomery, as a lover of architecture my favorite building in any of the cities I've visited. Xanadu gallery on Maiden Lane, the only Wright building in SF, a trial run for the Guggenheim in NYC.
