Anonomous asked:
I want to be an architect but i cannot afford those great schools like Virginia Tech, Rice University, or USC, etc.
I’m looking for a good school that has a great architecture program in my budget of $25,000 a year.
I live in Arizona and i do not think the in-state schools have that impressive of an architecture program

I don’t know where you’re from, but if location isn’t a problem, you should look into the University of Washington’s architecture program. I think they would be under $25,000 and year even for a non-resident. Good luck.
Public schools in your own state are the cheapest you’ll be able to find if you’re looking for a great architecture program. Most small private schools will be far more expensive and few will have great programs. Try looking at the Princeton Review and the US News College Rankings for 2009.
Oh yes, and the University of Virginia has an excellent 5 year program.
Most state universities will have tuition well below $25,000 a year, if you live in-state. You’ll need to check and see what each state’s requirements are to qualify for in-state residency. Here’s one list of architecture programs. I’m not sure how complete it is since it doesn’t seem to include anything in North Carolina.
