matt p asked:
I’m looking to buy a very high quality pencil for my son who is starting his architecture studio in school. I understand they are called “lead holders” or “drafting pencils”. I’m hoping to get him a fairly expensive (but not just novelty) pencil that he would be able to use for the remainder of his career.
What stores/websites sell quality pencils?

Just do a search online…
Hard wear store usually have one,or even lowes or home depot
Most art supply stores carry lead holders. Honestly, I would wait to get a really nice one until graduation, though. Here is a link to some practical ones:
You don’t want to spend too much money right now. Studios are usually very messy, and things get borrowed and not returned regularly. I had a lead holder for my first two years, but I found I preferred regular graphic pencils. The leads that go with the lead holders tend to get mixed up and broken, and they can be quite a pain if you aren’t meticulous about keeping things in order. This is a link to the pencils I liked best:
Good luck, and I hope this helped!
